Happy Labor Day!

September 4, 2017

The first Monday in September is celebrated nationally as Labor Day! The Labor Day holiday grew out of the late 19th Century organized by the labor movement, and quickly became a national holiday.  The idea first became public in September of 1882 when the unions of New York City decided to have a parade to celebrate their members.  Over the years the holiday has evolved, in the 19th Century celebrations focused on huge parades and now more activities.  Labor Day is also marks the perceived end of the summer season!

Have a safe and happy Labor Day!
